Slow food Cycle Sunday Pemberton BC
Cedar View Estate August 19th 2012
A record breaking number of cyclists joined the celebration of pemberton finest farmers and produce growers cycling along pemberton meadows road visiting farm stands along their route.
If you've never experienced the slow food cycle its definitely worth a visit. Its definately one of the finest fun days out in Pemberton. Cyclists start in the village and bike up to 25kms up along the farm road. Each few hundred yards ... (or sometimes kms), there are stops along the way where local farmers, food and vendors come to sell there wonderful fresh produce. The slow food movement is to encourage people to thing about decreasing the distance from farm to table, and to get people thinking about eating and growing food locally.
At Cedar View Estate we had a the large arena set up with Little Bear Productions performing their songs, we have several local vendors selling their produce including Hares Blueberries, Kristy's good bread, Renee's Salsa and Blackbird Bakery.
Cedar Views stand sold fresh flowers and produce from the farm and lots and lots of refreshment's .... it always seems to be on one of the hottest sunny days of the summer.
Here's some of the photos we managed to snap in between - many many cyclists .....
they just kept coming and coming and coming......
